Sony Unveils Alpha 1 II and FE 28-70mm F2 GM Lens: Redefining Professional Photography and Videography
Sony has introduced its new flagship, the Alpha 1 II, a full-frame mirrorless camera that embodies cutting-edge technology with a powerful AI processing unit. Building on the revolutionary Alpha 1, this second-generation model delivers a stunning 50.1 MP resolution and boasts blackout-free continuous shooting at up to 30 fps with advanced AF/AE tracking. The integration of AI elevates subject recognition to unprecedented levels, allowing the camera to seamlessly adapt to a variety of scenarios. Notably, the Alpha 1 II incorporates Pre-Capture technology from the Alpha 9 III, enabling photographers to capture moments up to a second before the shutter is pressed, ensuring no shot is missed. Despite its robust capabilities, the camera maintains a lightweight design, making it ideal for professionals across genres such as sports, wildlife, and portrait photography.
In tandem, Sony also revealed the FE 28-70mm F2 GM lens, the first G Master standard zoom with a constant F2 aperture. This innovative lens promises exceptional sharpness and contrast that rivals prime lenses, thanks to advanced optical technologies like XA elements and Nano AR Coating II. It offers stunning bokeh and precise autofocus powered by XD linear motors, making it perfect for both stills and cinematic video. With its compact form and robust build, the lens supports high-speed shooting and excels in challenging environments.
Both products will be available in December 2024, with the Alpha 1 II priced at approximately €7,500 and the FE 28-70mm F2 GM lens at €3,600, underscoring Sony’s commitment to providing professionals with tools that combine high performance, versatility, and reliability.
